Position Overview:
The Sales Forecasting Manager will play a critical role in the Retail and Sales department, responsible for developing and executing accurate sales forecasting strategies. Their primary objective will be to analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to forecast future sales performance. The Sales Forecasting Manager will collaborate closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to provide data-driven insights that assist in strategic decision-making and optimize sales performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain an accurate sales forecasting model based on historical data, market trends, and other relevant factors.
2. Analyze and interpret sales data to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks or opportunities.
3. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to gather relevant data and insights for forecasting purposes.
4. Conduct regular assessments of sales performance against forecasted targets, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions.
5. Generate reports, presentations, and other documentation to effectively communicate sales forecasts and insights to stakeholders.
6. Continuously monitor and evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of the forecasting model, making necessary adjustments and improvements as needed.
7. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities that may impact sales performance and forecasting accuracy.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between sales forecasts, budgeting, and overall business goals.
9. Provide guidance and support to sales teams in understanding and utilizing sales forecasts to drive performance.
10. Assist in the development and implementation of sales strategies and initiatives based on forecasted data and insights.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) in sales forecasting, sales analysis, or a related role within the retail industry.
3. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.
4. Proficient in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, statistical software).
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify patterns and trends from complex data sets.
6. Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in forecasted data and reports.
7. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
